Vitla, Feb 11, 2026: Two ITI students were injured in a stabbing incident that reportedly occurred at the town’s ITI following a quarrel over a minor issue.

The injured have been identified as Mohammed Riyan (18), a resident of Bannur in Puttur, and Yajnesh, a resident of Daigoli in Manjeshwar. Both are undergoing treatment at the Vitla Community Health Centre.


Stab


According to sources, Riyan, a first-year Electrician course student, had a verbal altercation with Hemanth, a resident of Vitla. It is alleged that Hemanth later brought a knife and stabbed Riyan. Yajnesh was also injured while attempting to intervene.

Upon receiving information, Vitla police rushed to the spot and have taken the accused, Hemanth, into custody.
