Arif Padubidri bags Pago Award

Mangalore, May 27, 2013: Mohammad Arif Padubidri, Chief Reporter of Vijaya Karnataka daily has been selected for Pa.Go. Rural Reporting Award for the year 2012. The Award is given by the DK District Working Journalists’ Union.

Arif  was chosen for the Award for his report ‘Napkin Ghatakada ‘Yashoda’Gathe’ published in the June 12, 2012 issue of Vijaya Karnataka. The Award presentation ceremony will be held at Press Club Hall of Patrika Bhavan on June 1 at 10.45 am. Senior journalist Chidambar Baikampady will present the Award.

The Award carries a cash prize of Rs 5001, citation and memento. The Award amount has been sponsored by Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala.


Mohammad  Arif is a post-graduate and a diploma holder in journalism and is in journalism field since 17 years.


He was the Udupi district reporter for Kannada Janantaranga for four years and    had then  held different posts in Vijaya Karnataka  since 2000. He is also the recipient of Bannanje Sri Ramacharya Award for 2012 and Talent Milad Award.
