Uppinangady, July 10, 2025: Naushad (35), a resident of Subhashnagar in Nekkilaadi, who had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Puttur following a serious bike accident, passed away on July 9 as the treatment proved ineffective.

Accident

On June 7, Naushad had left his house in Subhashnagar on his bike to visit a mosque. While entering the national highway at Bolwar, a bike coming from the Mani side collided with his vehicle. The impact threw him off the bike, and his head hit the road divider, causing severe head injuries and placing him in a coma. He was first admitted to a private hospital in Deralakatte, and later shifted to Puttur government hospital when his condition showed no signs of improvement.

Despite continuous treatment, he succumbed to his injuries early this morning. Naushad was a daily wage worker employed in line sales at a soft drink distribution unit in Nekkilaadi and also took up shamiana (tent) work during his free time. He is survived by his wife and two sons, aged six and four.
