Udupi’s Padubailur Hulivesha team wins first prize at Mysuru Dasara procession

Mysuru, Oct 4, 2025: The Dasara Procession and Torchlight Parade Sub-Committee has announced awards for cultural troupes that delivered outstanding performances during this year’s Mysuru Dasara Jamboo Savari.

The Ishta Mahalingeshwara Hulivesha team from Padubailur, Udupi district, won first prize along with a cash award of Rs 15,000. The team was led by Nagaraj Aithal.

The second prize was shared by two Gorava Kunita troupes: the Bhakta Kanakadasa Gorava Kunita Kala Sangha from Chamarajanagar, led by R.M. Shivamallu, and the Sarapani Mailaralingeshwara Gorava team from Kuvempunagar, Mysuru, led by Channamalegowda. Each team received Rs 5,000.

The third prize went to two teams — the Parvati Mallappa Sangolge troupe from Bidar and the Gandhi Nagar Tanda team from Yadgir, with each receiving Rs 2,500.

According to Seema Latkar, Deputy Special Officer of the Dasara Procession and Torchlight Parade Sub-Committee, around 60 tableaux and over 90 cultural troupes participated in the Vijayadashami procession held on Thursday.
