Udupi, December 1, 2025: In a swift operation, the Udupi CEN Police have arrested two accused in connection with an online fraud case involving several lakhs of rupees. The police seized cash and assets worth ₹6,15,000 from the accused.

The arrested individuals are Dev Harsha (20) from Patna district in Bihar and Chandan Kumar (29) from Nalanda district in Bihar. From them, the police recovered 10 mobile phones worth ₹97,000, four laptops valued at ₹68,000, and ₹4,50,000 in cash.

Online fraud

According to the complaint, a person named Avinash had applied online for a franchise of Campa Cola, owned by Reliance Industries. Within a few days, Avinash received calls and emails requesting further information and documentation. He sent his educational certificates, bank details, and Aadhaar card as instructed. The accused informed him that his franchise application had been accepted and, following their instructions, Avinash deposited a total of ₹5,72,500 in various bank accounts for registration and product booking.
