Moodbidri, May 4, 2026: A tragic road accident near Ansar Mall on the Sharjah–Dubai border on Sunday night claimed the life of a five-year-old girl from Shirthady in Moodbidri.
The deceased has been identified as Fathima Aniha, the five-year-old daughter of Hakeem, a native of Shirthady. Hakeem, who works in Sharjah, was living there with his family. The accident occurred when the family was preparing to get into their car after finishing shopping on Sunday night, when a speeding vehicle rammed into them from behind. The young girl is reported to have died on the spot.
In a heartbreaking detail, Aniha was to turn five on June 2, the same day her visa was set to expire. She was the only daughter among three sons in the family. According to family sources, her last rites will be performed in Sharjah.
