Moodbidri, May 4, 2026: In a tragic accident, an auto rickshaw driver was killed on the spot after a collision between an ambulance and an auto rickshaw at Bannadka on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as John Correa, the auto driver. The accident occurred when he was reversing his auto after dropping passengers at a function in Bannadka Math. At that moment, a speeding ambulance traveling from Moodbidri towards Karkala rammed into the vehicle.

The impact of the collision was severe, completely crushing the upper portion of the auto rickshaw, while the front part of the ambulance was also badly damaged, sources said.
