Udupi: Pedestrian critically injured after being run over by crane in Perampalli

Udupi, Feb 18, 2026: A pedestrian was seriously injured after being run over by a crane at Perampalli in Udupi.
The accident occurred in front of the Hergga Society in Perampalli while the pedestrian was walking along the roadside. The crane driver reportedly turned the vehicle to make way for an oncoming car, during which the crane ran over the pedestrian.
The victim, who was trapped under the wheel of the crane, sustained severe injuries and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. He is said to be battling for his life.
After the accident, the crane driver allegedly fled the scene without stopping the vehicle. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras.
