Suspicious death of woman; cops arrest son

Mangaluru, Oct 30, 2023: Bajpe police have arrested a man in connection with the unnatural death of his 60 year old mother at their residence at Durga Nagar in Kondela village near Kateel.

 

The arrested person is Raviraj Shetty (33). His mother Ratna Shetty was found dead at her rented accommodation at Kateel Durga Nagar on Sunday morning. The body was first seen by neighbours who peeped through the window after growing suspicious over the foul smell emanating from the house. The woman was found with her face covered and hands and legs in a tied state.

She was residing with her son in the room belonging to Balakrishna and worked in a hotel. On Friday she had not been to work due to ill-health. Meanwhile, the son had gone out after locking the door.

However when the news of the death of Ratna was conveyed to him he had tried to escape but was soon apprehended on the suspicion of killing his mother.
