Mangaluru, Jan 30, 2026: The Department of Otorhinolaryngology at KS Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA), a constituent of Nitte (Deemed to be University), successfully conducted the 19th KSHEMA ENT OSCE Workshop and Postgraduate Case Discussion on January 30 and 31 at Justice K.S. Hegde Charitable Hospital, Deralakatte.
The programme was inaugurated in the presence of eminent academicians. Prof. (Dr.) Gangadhar Somayaji, Vice-Chancellor of Yenepoya Deemed to be University, attended as the chief guest, while Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Moodithaya, Vice-Chancellor of Nitte (Deemed to be University), presided over the function. Prof. (Dr.) B. Sandeep Rai, Dean of KSHEMA, and Prof. (Dr.) Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice-President (ISR & CRL), Nitte DU, were the guests of honour.
The academic sessions included postgraduate case discussions led by renowned ENT academicians from various parts of the country, offering participants a broad spectrum of clinical insights and academic expertise.
On the occasion, senior ENT surgeons Dr. Azeem Mohiyuddin (Kolar) and Dr. Balakrishnan (Manipal) were felicitated in recognition of their decade-long association with KSHEMA and their significant contributions to the institution’s ENT teaching programmes.
The workshop was organised under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vadisha Bhat, Head of the Department of ENT, KSHEMA, with Prof. (Dr.) Shrinath Kamath as Organising Chairman and Dr. Goutham M. K. Ajila as Organising Secretary. Dr. Neema K and Dr. Meryl George compered the event.
The two-day programme saw active participation from postgraduate students and faculty members from across the region, underscoring KSHEMA’s continued commitment to academic excellence and professional development in the field of otorhinolaryngology.
