Mangaluru: Notorious rowdy arrested for evading court appearance

Mangaluru, July 14, 2026: Ullal police have arrested a notorious rowdy who had been absconding after repeatedly failing to appear before the court and allegedly disguising himself in a burqa to evade arrest. The accused has been identified as Imran Surmo.
According to police, Imran is involved in 23 criminal cases registered across Mangaluru city and Udupi district. Despite multiple non-bailable warrants issued by the court in several cases, he remained on the run, allegedly using the disguise to avoid being identified and apprehended by police.
Several criminal cases are registered against him at various police stations in Mangaluru city. Following his arrest, the accused was produced before the court.
