Mangalore, Aug 3, 2013: The Muslim Souharda Vedike South India which has described the state government stance on People’s Democratic Party Leader Abdul Nasser Madani as alarming, has urged the government to change its stance on the leader who is an accused in the 2008 Bangalore serial blasts case.
Speaking to reporters here, the Vedike Secretary SM Basheer Ahmed charged that a false allegation has been made by the public prosecutor in the Madani case, during the court hearing held last week.
He said Madani’s bail plea was rejected mainly due to the false allegation leveled by the prosecutor Dore Raju that he had links with Pakistan and may remain in touch with other accused in case he was granted bail.
Pointing out that Madani was not keeping in good health, he also refuted the claims of the state government that Madani was exaggerating his diseases.
The next hearing into the case is slated for August 5, Monday. Syed Mohammad Saqaf Tangal, Chairman of the Vedike, Abdul Azeez Musliyar, Kareem Maulvi, MKE Abbas and other leaders of the Vedike were present.
