Mangaluru, Nov 4, 2026: The Karnataka Police have transferred the suicide case of Somanath Puthran (48), a resident of Hosabettu and member of the Mogaveera community, along with two other cases, to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.

Director General and Inspector General of Police Dr M.A. Saleem issued an order on Tuesday transferring the investigation of all three cases to the CID. These include two criminal cases registered at the Surathkal Police Station and one Unnatural Death Report (UDR) case.

The Mangaluru City Police Commissioner has been directed to hand over all case files and relevant documents to the CID investigating officer for further investigation.
