Mangaluru, April 5, 2026: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will campaign in poll-bound Kerala on Sunday, addressing election rallies in the Kannadiga-dominated Manjeshwar Assembly constituency in Kasaragod district.

He is scheduled to arrive at Mangaluru International Airport at 4 pm and proceed to Manjeshwar, where he will address two public meetings—at Vorkady at 5 pm and Mulleria at 6.30 pm—before returning to Bengaluru.

Political activity has intensified in the border constituency over the past week, with leaders from Dakshina Kannada actively campaigning for their respective parties. The seat has emerged as a key battleground, with sitting MLA A.K.M. Ashraf of the UDF seeking re-election, while the BJP has fielded K. Surendran.

Mangaluru City South MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath (BJP) and Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai (Congress) have been actively canvassing in the region.

Rai criticised the BJP’s campaign, urging its candidate to seek votes based on performance rather than religion, and cautioned against attempts to create communal divisions in Kerala.

Kamath, on the other hand, called for an NDA-led government in the state, alleging misgovernance by the current dispensation and expressing confidence that voters are supporting the BJP.
