Mangaluru: Padmaraj Poojary appointed Dakshina Kannada District Congress President

Mangaluru, September 10, 2026: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has announced the appointment of District Congress Committee presidents for 35 districts across Karnataka.

Senior Billawa leader Padmaraj R. Poojary, KPCC general secretary and the Congress candidate in the recent Lok Sabha elections, has been appointed as the Dakshina Kannada District Congress president.

The appointment order was issued by AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal.

The appointments were made as part of the Congress party’s ‘Sanghatan Srujana Abhiyan’. Under the initiative, AICC observers appointed for each district conducted detailed reviews, consulted party office-bearers and other stakeholders, and submitted comprehensive reports.

Following the submission of these reports, individual consultations were held with candidates, along with discussions with senior party leaders, before finalising the appointments.
