Vittal: Three arrested in six POCSO cases over alleged sexual assault of minor boy

Vittal, Sep 8, 2026: Vittal police have arrested three persons in connection with six separate cases registered over the alleged sexual assault of a minor boy within the jurisdiction of Vittal police station.

According to the complaint, the alleged incidents took place between February and August 2026. The accused have been identified as Jawad, Shahid and Riyaz alias Abdul Gafoor, along with three others. The survivor lodged a complaint at the Vittal police station on September 4.

Based on the complaint, police registered six cases, bearing Crime Nos. 185/2026 to 190/2026, under Sections 4(2), 5(m), 6 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

During the investigation, police arrested Jawad, Shahid and Riyaz alias Abdul Gafoor and produced them before the court. The court remanded the three accused to judicial custody.
