Mangalore, Dec 19, 2013: Serial killer Cyanide Mohan has been convicted in a third murder case by the Fourth Additional and District Sessions Court on December 18, Wednesday. The third case was that of Sunanda (32) of Peruvaje in Sullia talk who went missing and was subsequently found murdered.
Mohan was held guilty under IPC Sections 366,376, 328, 392, 394, 417, 302 and 201. Sunanda who went missing on February 11, 2008 was found dead at the KSRTC bus stand at Mysore the same night. It came to light that the culprit had met the woman at a political rally at Nehru Maidan in Mangalore where Mohan introduced himself as Shashidhar and befriended her.
The two then met each other frequently when Mohan tried to make her believe that there was some’dosha’ which prevented them from marrying and used to offer her kumkum as a parihara or remedy. Believing him completely she on that fateful day left home saying she was visiting a temple in Kasargod but instead met Mohan who had assured to take her for a job interview in Mysore.
He then took her to a lodge and later to the KSRTC bus stand where he gave her a cyanide pill saying it was a contraceptive tablet. Sunanda later collapsed to death at the bus stand.
Harish of Ashirvad Finance where Mohan took the jewels of Sunanda for sale and the room boy of the Mysore lodge were among the 35 witnesses in this case.
It may be recalled here that the court had earlier on December 16, Monday convicted Mohan in the cases of murders of Anitha of Barimar and Leelavathi of Vamadapadavu.
The quantum of punishment in the three cases will be announced on December 19 Thursday (Today).
