Railway to promote sale and display of local products at Railways stations

Mangaluru, sep 20, 2022: Palakkad Division, Southern Railway is inviting  Expression of Interest (EOI) from willing agencies/ organizations /individuals to run/set up stalls for display and sale of local products for 30 days  in Railway Stations  under "One Station One Product’(OSOP) scheme.

In Palakkad Junction, Shoranur Junction, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Kannur,  Kasaragod and  Mangaluru Central Stations, Railway will provide  stalls to facilitate sales and display of products. Other stations, temporary stalls will be allowed to set up on demand.    

The stalls/ space for setting up temporary stalls will be provided by the Railway Administration free of cost. Electricity charges, according to their actual consumption will be collected from the party.  

The One station One product (OSOP) scheme launched by Railways is aimed to encourage the promotion and sale of local products at the Railway Stations.  Local artisans, potters, weavers/handloom weavers, craftsmen, tribal people etc. can utilise the opportunity for promotion and sale of their products.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Holder of Artisan/Weaver ID card issued by Development Commissioner Handicrafts, Development commissioner Handloom or by the requisite State/Central Government Authority.

2. Individual artisans/weavers/craftsmen enrolled/registered with Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India limited (TRIFED)/National Handloom Development Corporation (NHDC)/ Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) etc.

3. Self Help Groups registered with PMEGP (Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme).

4. Marginalized or weaker sections of society.

Registration fee and other charges:

The objective of this scheme is not to earn revenue for Railways but to showcase and promote the indigenous products and provide opportunity to earn livelihood through skill Development of the local artisans, weavers, craftsmen/craftswomen etc.

The normal duration of allotment of OSOP Outlets will be for a period of 15 days with a nominal Registration fee of Rs. 1000/- (inclusive of GST) on lump sum basis.

This has been modified as Rs. 2000/- for 30 days and for NSG 5 & 6 (Small) Stations Registration fee is Rs.500/- for 15 days period and Rs. 1000/- for 30 days period.

OSOP outlet allocations for shorter durations especially during festivals/fairs etc. for maximum duration of seven days.

In such a case Registration fee will be Rs. 100/- per day (inclusive of GST) for all category stations on a lump sum basis irrespective of type and size of outlets.
