Mangaluru, June 30, 2025: Reacting to BJP’s claim that the current government will collapse within three months, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said such remarks are nothing but a thief’s dream. “The people have already sent them home. Our party remains stable,” he said while speaking to the media.
Questioning the BJP’s credibility, Rao added, “What is right in their party? If there’s a mosquito in our plate, there’s a snake in theirs. Let them first worry about saving their own house.”
He further informed that senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala will meet all party MLAs across the state to gather their opinions. “Based on the feedback, the next steps will be decided. In a large political party, it is natural to have differing opinions. I will also meet with them, and we will resolve internal issues within the party,” he said.
Addressing allegations of corruption in house allotments, Rao said, “If there’s any proof, let them share it. BR Patil has made statements and even discussed it with the CM. Corruption exists across the country; we can’t deny it. But we are committed to eradicating it.”
On the issue of sand and laterite stone shortages in the district, the minister clarified, “Illegal transportation of sand and laterite stone cannot be allowed by violating laws. The matter will be discussed in the upcoming KDP (Karnataka Development Programme) meeting. We will review how such activities were being allowed all this while, and based on inputs from senior officials, take decisions to ease the situation.”
