Puttur: Police Nab Burglary Suspect, Recover Gold and Cash

Puttur, Aug 17, 2025: The Puttur Rural police have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a house burglary reported on August 12, in which 30 grams of gold and Rs 5,000 cash were stolen.

The accused, identified as Dayanand Naik M of Nettanige Muduru village, was apprehended at Eshwaramangala. Police recovered 30.120 grams of gold and the motorcycle allegedly used in the crime.

The case was registered under Crime No. 83/2025, as per Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Arun Nagegowda said the team worked “meticulously” to ensure swift justice. Inspector Ravi B. S. noted that the recovery of stolen property reflected the police’s commitment to public safety.

The operation was led by sub-inspector Jamburaj Mahajan, assisted by ASI Chandrashekar and a team of constables and staff.

Investigations are underway to trace other possible culprits.
