Padubidri boy Sameeth to take part in convention in Japan

Sameeth YermalUdupi, June 29, 2014: A Padubidri boy Sameeth Yermal has been selected from Karnataka to take part in the Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention scheduled to be held in Fukuoka in Japan from July 10 to 24.

About 59 countries will take part in the convention by sending their junior ambassadors. A total of 224 children below the age group of 11 are taking part in the convention. Six children from India are participating. Sameeth Yermal is the one who has been selected from Karnataka.The selection process had one-year procedures to scrutinise the talent. Except for the registration fee that accounts to 25 US dollar, the Japan government bears all other expenses.

Sameeth is a badminton player and a swimmer and is the student of Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar. The convention is a cultural conglomeration, wherein the selected junior ambassadors are expected to take part in the cultural exchange programme. The convention is sponsored by the JCI - Japanese Chanber of Industry.
