Mangalore, Jan 9, 2012: The Popular Front of India (PFI), DK unit, organized a protest in front of the DC’s office on Jan 9 Monday demanding that legal action should be taken against the members of Shri Rama Sene who stand accused of hoisting the Pakistani flag on a government building in Bijapur.

PFI State Committee Member Riyaz said in his protest address that the Sangh Parivar is involved in all sorts of activities to create communal tension in Karnataka and that the chief minister is not taking any action against them although the PFI has written a letter to him on this issue.

He also said that the arrested Shri Rama Sene members have admitted during police interrogation that they were instructed by the RSS to hoist the Pakistani flag on the premises of the Mini Vidhana Soudha, which has several government department offices.

Labeling Muthalik, the Shri Rama Sene leader, as a terrorist, he said that even Praveen Kumar Togadia and Uma Bharathi are responsible for terrorist activities. Stating that the Babri Masjid, which was a symbol of communal harmony, was demolished to create violence, he said that the PFI will protect people from these goons and will never allow them to succeed.

Speaking on the occasion, B. Rajashekar, a thinker from Udupi, said that if the Bijapur incident had taken place in Udupi or Mangalore, the police would not have arrested the culprits because they are dependant on the RSS. The Bijapur police are, therefore, role models to the police of the twin districts, he added.

Stating that all pro-Hindu outfits have the same agenda, he said that the government ought to have passed an order to arrest these miscreants, but has not done so.

PFI State President Shareef delivered the welcome address. PFI State Committee Member Razak Kemmara presided. DK SDPI President Jaleel K and Komu Souharda Vedike President Suresh Bhat were the chief guests of the event.
