NEET-UG paper leak case: NTA debars Latur coaching centre owner’s son for two years

Latur, Sep 24, 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has debarred Aditya Motegaonkar, son of Latur-based coaching centre owner and NEET-UG paper leak case accused Shivraj Motegaonkar, from appearing for the medical entrance examination for two years.

Aditya’s NEET-UG result has been withheld, and he has also been declared ineligible to appear for NEET-UG 2027, according to an NTA communication issued on September 19.

Shivraj Motegaonkar, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case, is currently in judicial custody.

According to the CBI, Motegaonkar allegedly paid Rs 5 lakh to P.V. Kulkarni to obtain chemistry questions ahead of the examination. Kulkarni was reportedly part of the NTA panel involved in setting the question paper.

The agency alleged that Motegaonkar’s son attended Kulkarni’s coaching classes, where the questions were provided.

Following the NEET-UG re-examination conducted on June 21, the NTA withheld Aditya’s result and sought his explanation regarding the alleged irregularities.

In his response, Aditya denied using any unfair means during the examination. He also argued that the notice concerned alleged irregularities in the May 3 examination and questioned why his result in the subsequent re-examination had been withheld.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate), or NEET-UG, is conducted by the NTA for admission to undergraduate medical courses.

The NTA had cancelled the NEET-UG examination held on May 3 following allegations of a question-paper leak and conducted a re-examination on June 21.

The CBI last month submitted its final report before a designated fast-track court in Delhi handling criminal cases related to paper leaks and other unfair means in public examinations.
