Moodbidri: 19-year-old two-wheeler rider killed in head-on collision with private bus

Moodbidri, Oct 31, 2026: A 19-year-old two-wheeler rider died after a private bus collided head-on with his vehicle at Todaru on the Mangaluru–Karkala National Highway on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Riphaz (19), a resident of Todaru. He was reportedly working at a fruit shop in Moodbidri.

The accident occurred when a private bus named Abhimaan, travelling from Mangaluru towards Moodbidri, allegedly entered the wrong side of the road at high speed and collided with Riphaz’s two-wheeler.

The bus was supposed to travel along the service road but was reportedly being driven in the opposite direction in a rash and negligent manner when the collision occurred.

Riphaz sustained critical injuries and reportedly died while being shifted to the hospital.

Moodbidri police visited the spot and registered a case.
