Mangaluru, December 8, 2025: Anwar Sadath, District President of the SDP(I) in Dakshina Kannada, has strongly criticized MP Brijesh Chowta for his recent statements in Parliament linking the banned organization PFI with the SDP(I).
According to Sadath, Chowta’s remarks falsely suggested that the SDP(I) was carrying out the activities of the PFI. “A Member of Parliament should know how to speak responsibly. Instead, he made baseless allegations,” he said.
Sadath emphasized that the SDP(I) has been working since 2009 under the ideals of democracy and is currently the third-largest political party in Dakshina Kannada. He added that BJP workers are reportedly disillusioned with Chowta’s statements.
“Statements like these endanger public sentiment. If such comments continue, the people may react strongly,” Sadath warned. He also accused authorities of targeting SDP(I) leaders, stating that the NIA had arrested party leaders based on false allegations.
Sadath questioned the MP’s contributions after elections and criticized his attempt to create confusion by linking SDP(I) to banned organizations. He further mentioned ongoing threats and past incidents, including the killing of a Congress worker in Chikmagalur, to underline the seriousness of reckless statements.
