Mangaluru, Oct 31, 2025: Several distinguished personalities from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts have been selected for the prestigious Karnataka Rajyotsava Award 2025, announced by the state government.
From Dakshina Kannada, Sindhu Gujaran has been honoured in the field of folk arts, while renowned actor Prakash Raj has been recognised for his contribution to cinema. In the field of social service, Corrine Rasquinha from Dakshina Kannada and Dr. N. Seetharam Shetty from Udupi district have been chosen for the honour.
Umesh Pambada has been selected in the field of Daivaradhane, and B.M. Haneef has been recognised in the field of media. In Yakshagana, Kota Suresh Bangera and Airody Anand Shetty from Udupi district have been awarded, while Mime Ramesh from Dakshina Kannada has been honoured in the theatre category.
These awardees represent the rich cultural and social diversity of Coastal Karnataka and have brought pride to the region through their outstanding contributions.
