Mangaluru, Mar 26, 2026: The India Meteorological Department has forecast rainfall in parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts over the next two to three days.
Due to a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea, rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms is expected in several areas. The weather department also stated that interior southern regions may receive good rainfall.
On Tuesday, Mangaluru recorded a maximum temperature of 33.5°C, which is 0.4°C below normal, and a minimum temperature of 25.2°C. As of 8:30 am on March 24, Dakshina Kannada district recorded 39°C, while Udupi district recorded 37.4°C.
Udupi: Thunderstorms with lightning and rain were reported in Kundapur, Hiriyadka, Bellarpadi, Aatradi, and surrounding areas during the evening. The district had been experiencing high temperatures over the past few days. According to the weather department, fluctuations in weather conditions are likely over the next few days.
Kadaba/Sullia: Heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning was reported in Siribagilu area of Kadaba taluk this evening, while moderate rainfall occurred in other parts of the taluk. Light to moderate rain was also reported in several areas of Sullia taluk, including Kalmadka and Panja. Hailstorms were reported in some places. Moderate rain was also experienced in Beltangady taluk.
