Mangaluru: Leopard trapped after sightings near Nekkar

Mangaluru, Mar 26, 2026: A large leopard that had been roaming around Nekkar and nearby areas near Paldane over the past few days has been captured by forest department officials using a cage trap at Kelarai Cross, Nekkar Padavu.
Local residents had reported the presence of the leopard to former corporator and ex-mayor Bhaskar K., who responded promptly and alerted the forest department. His timely action in facilitating the operation has been widely appreciated.
Residents have also expressed satisfaction over the swift response and efficient action taken by the forest department.
