Mangaluru, Apr 8, 2026: In a special operation, police in Mangaluru successfully traced and returned 150 mobile phones that had been lost by members of the public due to various reasons.


Accident

According to a police release, the operation was carried out in March, during which officials tracked the missing devices using the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal. Complaints registered by the public on the CEIR portal were thoroughly verified, following which a district-wide drive was conducted.

As a result, 150 mobile phones were recovered and handed over to their rightful owners at respective police station limits, the release added.
