Mangaluru, Apr 22, 2026: The Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act (KCOCA) has been invoked against all accused in the murder of fish trader and rowdy-sheeter Arif (46) from Bunder dock area, City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said.
He stated that after submitting the relevant orders to the court, the case will be transferred to the Special Court in Mysuru for trial.

During the investigation, the involvement of 15 accused has been established, of whom 10 have been arrested. They were taken into police custody for interrogation and investigation, and as the custody period has now ended, they have been remanded to judicial custody, he said.
The role of five more accused has also come to light during the probe, some of whom are currently abroad. Legal steps are being taken to secure their arrest, the Commissioner added.
He further said that under the KCOCA Act, being a member of or associating with an organised crime syndicate is also a punishable offence, carrying imprisonment. Strict charges will be invoked against each accused based on their role in the murder.
