Mangaluru, Nov 7, 2025: A six-year-old boy, Ahil, son of Muhammad Azhar from Souharda Nagar in Bajpe, was injured after being attacked by stray dogs on Thursday.

According to reports, the incident occurred when Ahil was returning home after attending madrasa. A pack of stray dogs suddenly surrounded and bit him on the cheek and hand, causing serious injuries.

Hearing his cries, the boy’s mother rushed to the spot and rescued him. He was first taken to the Bajpe government hospital and later shifted to Durg Sanjeevini Manipal Hospital in Kateel for further treatment.

The boy’s uncle, Muhammad Muzammil, voiced frustration over the persistent stray dog menace in the area. “We have been requesting the Kandavara gram panchayat for the past three years to address this issue, but no effective action has been taken. Officials only cite court orders that prevent the killing of stray dogs,” he said.
