Mangaluru: Arif murder case – another key accused arrested, total arrests rise to 11

Mangaluru, Apr 24, 2026: Police have arrested another key accused in connection with the recent murder of rowdy-sheeter Arif Hussain on the Thokkottu flyover, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 11.

The arrested accused has been identified as Mohammed Suhail alias Chiya (24).

Police said Suhail is accused of assisting in the first attack on Arif. Following a detailed investigation, he was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

Earlier, police had already arrested 10 accused in connection with the murder case. With Suhail’s arrest, the total number of arrests has now risen to 11.

During the investigation, police found that 15 people were involved in the murder. A search is currently under way to trace the remaining accused.

Arif was brutally murdered in the early hours of March 27 on the Thokkottu flyover while he was travelling on a bike. The assailants allegedly arrived in a car, intercepted him, and hacked him to death with deadly weapons.
