Mangalore, Mar 9, 2013: Two youngsters who had planned to have their day by snatching the chain of a woman, landed in the hospital that too after a good thrashing by the public, at Rangapade in Neermarga on March 9, Saturday morning.


This was what happened. A woman named Sundari (50) was walking along the road when two bike riders who passed that way snatched her chain weighing seven sovereigns and escaped. But for their bad luck, their bike skid and they fell onto the road. The woman raised an alarm and the chain snatchers were trapped and given a good beating before handing them over to the police.

The two who also sustained injuries during the fall were given treatment in the hospital. After the woman identified the chain snatchers at Wenlock, her chain was handed over to her.


The arrested duo have been identified as Mustafa (20) from Bantwal and Rafiq(26) from Nelyady. It is learnt, the latter   stayed near Badria School in Bunder.
