Mangaluru, Mar 8, 2026: The New Mangalore Port Authority welcomed the third cruise vessel of the current season, MS Sirena, on Sunday, marking another step in boosting cruise tourism in the region.
The Marshall Islands-flagged cruise liner, operated by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, arrived at the port at around 9 am from Kochi as part of its international itinerary covering Colombo – Kochi – Mangaluru – Goa – Mumbai. The vessel carried 619 passengers and 390 crew members.



Passengers received a traditional welcome at the cruise terminal, showcasing the culture and hospitality of coastal Karnataka. Authorities made elaborate arrangements at the terminal to ensure a smooth experience for tourists.
Visitors explored several key attractions in and around the city, including the Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, St Aloysius Chapel, and the Thousand Pillar Jain Temple, along with local markets. Guided tours were arranged to showcase the region’s heritage, cuisine and craftsmanship.
Cultural programmes featuring traditional performances and meditation sessions were also organised for the visitors.
Officials said the arrival of international cruise liners is strengthening Mangaluru as an emerging cruise tourism destination on India’s west coast. The vessel is scheduled to depart later in the evening for Mormugao Port.
