Mangaluru, Sep 8, 2025: A teacher-to-teacher workshop on “Mathematics Integration with New Technology (MINT)” was held on September 8, 2025, at Dr. M. Ramanna Shetty English Medium High School, Tokuru.
The event was graced by Mr. N. Vinaya Hegde, President of Nitte Institutions and Chancellor of Nitte (Deemed-to-be) University; Dr. R. V. Sairam Rudrabhatla, Director of the Biofuel Center Lab at Penn State Harrisburg; Dr. Shobha Rudrabhatla, Chief Scientific Officer of Biology and Assistant Teaching Professor at Penn State Harrisburg; Dr. Suryanarayana K, Head of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at NMAMIT, Nitte; Mr. Pushparaj Chowta, President of the Teachers’ Welfare Association; and School Principal Mrs. Shrilatha Rao.
In his presidential address, Mr. Vinaya Hegde emphasized the transformative role of technology in education and urged teachers to adopt modern tools and methodologies. He encouraged them to embrace digital-age technologies to strengthen their teaching practices and empower themselves further.
Guest speakers Dr. R. V. Sairam Rudrabhatla and Dr. Shobha Rudrabhatla highlighted the importance of adopting practical and active learning as the foundation of modern pedagogy. They called on teachers to explore innovative possibilities for student-centered classrooms and to cultivate creative thinking.
Dr. Suryanarayana spoke on the need for innovation in teaching practices beyond traditional methods. He guided teachers on leveraging curiosity-driven engagement and incorporating new technologies into the learning process.
Mathematics teachers from 18 CBSE schools in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts are participating in the two-day workshop on September 8 and 9.
Mr. Pushparaj Chowta extended his best wishes to all participating teachers. Principal Mrs. Shrilatha Rao welcomed the gathering, Mrs. Smita H. M. proposed the vote of thanks, and Mrs. Siri Udupa compered the program.
