Further, he said that CM Sadananda Gowda has directed that the Gundya to Sakleshpur stretch should be immediately asphalted without waiting for the central government to release the funds. He also informed that the temporary repair of this stretch was done by Amey Road Service, which holds a 3-year contract to fill the potholes and patch up the road in order to make it fit for use.

Kottary urged the central government to repair all the national highways immediately and pointed out that the BC Road to Padil stretch is yet to be repaired although MLA B. Ramanath Rai is quiet about it.

He further informed that the state government has repaired 27kms of roads within Bantwal and Ramanath Rai, who participated in the foundation laying ceremony, is complaining that the state government is not bothered about developing infrastructure.

Citing examples of other roads, he said that Rs. 1.28 crore has been used to repair and asphalt the Kalldka to Kanhangad stretch and that work on this road will be completed this December. He also said that a major portion of the main road has been concretized and that the sub road will be asphalted in December.

He also complained that the central government has not released funds under the Gram Sadak Yojana for Karnataka for the past 2 years.

BJP leaders such as Nithin Kumar, the president of KFDC, Raj Gopal, Sanjeev Matandoor, and many others were also present.
