Mangalore Today News Network

mla ut khader 2011 nov 30Mangalore, Nov 30, 2011: MLA U. T. Khader is quite optimistic about his party winning the Bellary by-polls. Addressing reporters at a press conference held today, he said that the competition is between Shriramulu and the Congress party and that the people of Bellary have already understood that the BJP is playing a drama in Bellary.

Regarding the recent protest against the Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill, he said that certain people have used this opportunity to create communal disharmony by making harsh statements. Stating that it is impossible to make laws that are unfair to a particular community, he said that the right wing groups have made false statements. Those who create communal unrest by making provocative statements should be afraid of this law, he added.

Voicing his opinion that the advantages and disadvantages of the centre’s move regarding FDI should be discussed in detail, he stated that PM Manmohan Singh will not approve policies that are not beneficial to the country.

Speaking about the projects undertaken in his constituency, he said that Rs. 6.38 crore is being spent on roads in Bantwal and Mangalore and that work on a 49-km stretch has been approved under the Grama Sadak Yojana and work on a further 20-km stretch in his constituency will commence shortly.

Demanding that funds earmarked for projects under Shaasakara Nidhi should be released immediately, he said that any further delay will have an adverse effect on the regions in which these projects are to be implemented.

T. K. Sudhir, Sadashiv Ullal, and Nazeer Bajal were also present.
