Kasargod: Man dies after being hit by train at railway station

Kasargod, December 27, 2025: A man from Kodagu district died after being struck by a train at Kasargod railway station on Friday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh (35), a resident of Kodagu.

The incident occurred when he attempted to cross the tracks via a footpath to reach the platform after alighting from a train, and was hit by a goods train. The victim sustained fatal head injuries. He was identified through his Aadhaar card found in his pocket. The body has been preserved at Kasargod General Hospital.

Railway authorities have informed the deceased’s relatives about the accident. According to the Aadhaar card, he was the son of Chennayya from Gonimanguru, Somanapura, Kodagu district. Police stated that the accident and subsequent death were caused by carelessly attempting to cross the tracks after getting off the train.
