CBSE extends Class 12 verification, re-evaluation application deadline till June 7

New Delhi, June 6, 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for submitting applications for verification and re-evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets by one day, allowing students to apply until midnight on June 7.

The extension follows complaints from several students who reported difficulties accessing their answer books and submitting requests through the CBSE’s post-result services portal, which was launched on June 2.

Announcing the decision on X, the board said, “In the interest of students, the CBSE has decided to extend the last date for submission of applications for verification and re-evaluation for the Class 12 board examinations, thereby providing students additional time and support to complete the process.”

The earlier deadline of June 6 (midnight) has now been revised to June 7 (midnight). The board urged students to take note of the updated schedule and submit their applications within the extended timeframe.

On Tuesday, CBSE opened the online portal enabling students to seek verification of issues identified in scanned copies of their answer books and request re-evaluation of answers if they were dissatisfied with the assessment.

According to the board, students can report problems such as missing pages, omitted supplementary sheets, absent maps or graphs, blurred scans, incorrect answer books, or evaluation based on a different question paper set.

The development comes amid a controversy involving the board’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. Some Class 12 students alleged that the scanned copies of their answer sheets uploaded by CBSE did not match their handwriting, raising concerns over possible mismatches during the evaluation process.

In response to the allegations, the Cabinet Secretariat has constituted a one-member committee to investigate the procurement of services related to the OSM system used by the CBSE.
