Karnataka sees 104 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday; Positivity rate crosses 5%

Bengaluru, Dec 24, 2023: Amid an uptick in Covid-19 cases across the country, Karnataka, on Saturday, recorded 104 new infections. This takes the total number of active cases in the state to 272, with four Covid deaths reported since December 15. With this, the State’s test positivity rate (TPR) touched 5.93%.

Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao met health officials to review prepardness for a massive health camp to be organised in Chamaranjanagar district. The health camp is supposed to be an easier way to reach people in rural areas.

"Chaired a preliminary meeting with the health officials to review preparedness for the massive health camp being organized at Kollegala in Chamarajanagar district. The massive health camp will offer preventive and curative treatment and is an easier way to reach people in rural areas. I instructed the concerned authorities to make proper arrangements and ensure the availability of specialist doctors, equipment and medications. Kollegala MLA Shri AR Krishnamurthy, District Health Officer and Tehsildar were present in the meeting," Rao wrote in a post on X.
