Malpe, Dec 04, 2020: State Home Minister and Udupi district in-charge Minister Basavaraj Bommai has expressed optimism that Karnataka too would get simplified CRZ rules on the lines of Goa where such a measure has given scope for ample development of tourism sector.
He was speaking after inaugurating an open air theatre and a park developed at a cost of around Rs 2 crore near the Malpe Sea Walk on December 3, Thursday.
On the development of small fisheries ports in the district, the minister said the officials have already been instructed to prepare proposals and submit the same. He said sanction has been secured for the release of Rs 91 crores towards the development of National Highway upto 5 kms from Udupi Karavali byepass upto Malpe.
K Raghupathi Bhat, Udupi MLA presided over the function. Coastal Development Authority Chairman Mattaru Ratnaker Hegde, Town Development Authority Chairman Raghavendra Kini, CMC Chief Sumitra Nayak,CMC Vice President Lakshmi Manjunath, ZP CEO Dr Naveen Bhat, SP Vishnuvardhan, Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha and others were present.
