Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, Jun 3, 2026: Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader on Tuesday said that a digitalisation system will be implemented in both Houses of the State Legislature — the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council — within the next six months.

Addressing a press conference, Khader said the state government has approved the digitalisation of both Houses. The project will be carried out with equal financial support from the Centre and the State Government, with each contributing 50 per cent of the required funds.

A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared at an estimated cost of ₹78 crore for the Assembly in Bengaluru and Belagavi, while a DPR worth ₹52 crore has been prepared for the Legislative Council.

The move is aimed at enabling paperless governance and legislative proceedings, resulting in significant savings and improved efficiency. It will also make it easier for legislators to access information and streamline attendance management systems, he said.
