Karkala: Gas cylinder blast in Sanuru home causes Rs 3 lakh damage

Karkala, January 16, 2026: A gas cylinder exploded in a house, damaging several possessions along with the walls of the home, in Muddan Nagar of Sanuru village on Thursday around 1:30 AM. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

Cylinder blast


The accident occurred at the residence of Varija in Muddan Nagar. The gas cylinder, which was in a room adjacent to the kitchen, exploded. Due to the intensity of the blast, the house walls, furniture, washing machine, cookware, and electrical appliances were completely damaged.

Since the explosion occurred on the outer side of the house, no one was harmed. The cause of the explosion is not yet known. The total loss from the incident is estimated to be around ₹3 lakh.
