Mangalore, Oct 23, 2013: Hindu Jagarana Vedike Karnataka South Unit urged the State government to hand over Sowjanya Rape and Murder Case to CBI probe.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on October 23, Wednesday, Sathyajit Suratkal, Convener of the Vedike said that even though CID has started interrogation, there is need of CBI probe in relation to Sowjanya case under the supervision of court.
He also said that due to the pressure and influence of powerful people, the police department and CID are finding difficult to investigate the case. The real culprits are still moving out freely and the CID and dpolice are trying to close the case.
The investigation must be carried out without bias and the culprits must be punished under strict laws, he said.
Further the CBI investigation must be taken place under the surveillance of court, so that Government do not misguide the CBI officilas during investigations.
