Guarantee schemes will not be stopped, says Ivan D’Souza

Mangaluru, June 08,2024: Newly elected MLC Ivan D’Souza has made it clear that the state government will not stop the guarantee schemes as alleged by the BJP.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Ivan said the guarantee schemes will not be stopped for any reason. Instead a committee has been formed to reach out to those people who are not beneficiaries of the schemes. An office will be opened for this purpose in the ZP premises he said.

He said the BJP people were alleging that the guarantee schemes would be stopped, out of sheer jealousy. Those who claimed Char Sau Paar should first speak out why they could not get a majority, he challenged.

He said the Congress aimed to get 13 to 18 seats in the state in the LS elections. Not able to achieve this was disappointing, still there is a satisfaction that more number of seats have been won this time compared to the previous Lok Sabha elections, he added.

DCC Chief Harish Kumar, Party leaders Ashraf, Praveen Chandra Alva and others were present.
