Food and Civil Supplies Dept. raids illegal gas refilling unit at Kandathpally

Mangalore, April 24: The officials of Food and Civil Supplies Department have raided an illegal Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) refilling unit at Kandathpally on April 24.

 

 

 

 

The raid operation were conducted in the morning, where 62 gas cylinders, 19 small cylinders, weighing machine and a gas transferring kit were confiscated by the police. It is said that, out of 62 cylinders, 50 were filled cylinders. All the seized cylinders were used for the domestic purpose. 

V Ponnuraj, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada was also took part in the raid. Speaking after the raid, he said about the modus operandi of fraudsters. The culprits were used to buy the domestic LPG gas from distributors and transfer the gas to commercial and sell them for higher price.

A criminal case has been charged against the culprits, in this regard.
