Belthangady: Externment order issued against Mahesh Shetty Timarodi for the third time

Belthangady, Mar 17, 2026: Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, an activist campaigning for justice in the Soujanya case, has been issued an externment order for the third time.

As per a High Court order, Puttur Assistant Commissioner Stella Varghese issued an order on March 16 to extern Mahesh Shetty Timarodi to Manvi taluk of Raichur district for a period of six months.

The externment period will be in effect from March 16 to September 16.

Following the externment order issued by the Puttur Assistant Commissioner, a police team led by Belthangady Sub-Division DySP Rohini C.K. went to the residence of Mahesh Shetty Timarodi in Ujire late Monday night to serve the order. However, Timarodi was reportedly not at home at the time. Subsequently, the police pasted the notice on the wall of his house.
