Uppinangady: 5-year-old girl killed, two injured in car–scooter collision

Uppinangady, Mar 17, 2026: A five-year-old girl died and two others were injured after a car collided with a two-wheeler at Kalleri on Monday.

According to reports, Ismail, a resident of Kodange House in Tannirupanta village, was travelling from Kalleri to Kuppetty on a two-wheeler along with his daughter Sajira and granddaughter Suhaira. During the journey, a car driven by Shivaprasad, a native of Venur, reportedly hit their vehicle from the opposite direction.

As a result of the impact, Suhaira sustained critical injuries, while her mother Sajira (33) and her grandfather Ismail (60), who was riding the two-wheeler, were also injured. All three were admitted to a hospital for treatment.

However, Suhaira, who was critically injured, succumbed to her injuries on Monday night, police sources said.

A case has been registered at the Puttur Traffic Police Station.
