Mangalore, June 15, 2013 :  The District unit of the CITU organised a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mangalore on June 14, Friday to condemn the failure of the Union  Government to solve the problems of the common man as well as working class.

Addressing the gathering, P Madhavan, State Vice President of the CITU charged the UPA government at the Centre of bringing  untold hardships to the common man. Coming down heavily on the National Food Security Bill, the leader said the Bill was not in the interests of the common man.

Referring to the state government, he hoped the government would fulfill all its promises including provision of rice at Re 1 per kg.


He was also critical of the government decision to link bank account numbers and Aadhar numbers to avail LPG subsidy. He further  deplored the denial of scholarships to those children of beedi workers who did not have Aadhar cards.



Several CITU leaders including Vasanth Acharya took part in the protest.
