Mangalore, Oct 25, 2011 : St. Theresa School of Bendore and Padua Pre University College, which were attacked recently by 3 miscreants who arrived on a motorbike, submitted a memorandum to Seemanth Kumar Singh, the Mangalore Police Commissioner, in which they urged the police to protect the schools from such acts.
It may be recalled that certain unidentified persons arrived by motorbike in the early hours of Sunday and damaged property belonging to these institutions.
Sr. Rose Celine, the secretary of the Bethany Educational Society, told reporters that they had urged the police commissioner to trace the culprits at the earliest possible, adding that the incident has created fear in their minds. She termed the attack as an “attempt to disturb peace” in the region.
Fr. Michael Santhumayor, the principal of Padua Pre University College, said that 3 unknown persons attacked the prayer hall at 3:00 a.m. and that the college is unable to understand the reason for the attack.
Both Padua College and St. Theresa’s School have been attacked 3 times previously.
